In the first Oasis Women's Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament organized by Oasis Club, Ilam, which started on Thursday, the visiting team Manebhanjang Football Club, India and Dipendra Shikhar Football Club, Ilam entered the semi-finals with a winning start.
In the opening match at the large Tundikhel ground, Manebhanjyang got off to a winning start by defeating the host Oasis Club, Ilam 3-1. Manebhanjyang's Sonia Marak was declared the player of the match. She received 2,000 cash and a medal as an award.
In the second quarter-final, Dipendra Shikhar defeated P.Y.C., Panchthar by 5-4 in the tiebreaker. Before that, both the teams played a goalless draw. Dipendra Shikhar's Leela Joshi was declared the player of the match. She also received 2,000 cash and a medal as an award.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Kishore Rai, president of the Koshi Pradesh Football Association. The winner of the competition, which will run until Falgun 7, will receive a cash prize of 2 lakhs along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 1 lakh.
