News India Coach Maymol Rockey Confident Of Winning Fifth Title

India National Women's Team Coach Maymol Rockey is eager to set record by winning fifth title of SAFF Women's Championship tomorrow.

India is playing against hosts Nepal in the final of SAFF Women's Championship 2019 at Sahid Maidan, Biratnagar tomorrow at 3 PM NST.

She told media that her girls were all prepared to face the hosts in the finals.

"Final match will always be graceful to play and to watch. We will come prepared and definitely, Nepal will also come prepared for it and we will face them.", the coach said.

"My expectation is to win the match always.".

Commenting about the last two matches against Nepal(draw and loss), Coach Maymol Rockey said," For us, its a new tournament. Every thing is new for us. We started up well and will end off the championship well."

India played 1-1 draw against Nepal in 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifers on November 8, 2018 and they lost(2-1) for the first time with Nepal in Hero Women's Gold Cup on February 11, 2019. 

"My girls have played in Hong Kong, Indonesia. They are motivated to play and to win away matches in front of opponent's fans.", answered the coach when quizzed if her team would feel pressure to play in front of Nepalese supporters.

Nepal is one of the strongest teams because they have reached to the finals. But the team that plays good will win the tournament. I am sure to take the fifth title home. But this is football. We never know what happens tomorrow."

Skipper Ashalata Devi is also hopeful to win the title for the fifth time.

"We have already won in four occassions. We will try to play for win tomorrow also to make it a fifth one. I hope we will win.

"We are neither under pressure nor relaxed. Nepal is a good side. I respect opponents. We will play good match to win the title." stated the forward.
