
Punam Chemjong, Nepal U-15 Women's team member who won the SAFF U-15 Women's Championship in Bangladesh, has been given a grand welcome in her home district.
In the recently concluded tournament held in Bangladesh, Chemjong, who succeeded in giving Nepal a historic title, was felicitated in the home district of Panchthar. Various organizations, locals and well-wishers have welcomed her with respect while arriving in her birthplace Falgunanda Rural Municipality. Chemjong, who is a member of Phaktep Youth Club in Falgunand Ward No. 5, was taken home with a victory rally in the honor program organized by the youth club in recognition of her contribution to raising the honor of not only Panchthar district but also the country.
Bijayatar School, Phakphokthum-1, the school where she passed her SEE, where she completed his primary education, Ghurbise Panchami Madhyamik Bidhyalaya, Phalgunand-5, Phaktep also honored her and Ward No. 5 honored him with a cash prize of 10,000 rupees. Falgunand rural municipality will also organize a program to honor Chemjong with cash, informed Nirmal Tumrok, the municipality's chief administrative officer.
Meanwhile, other personalities who have contributed have also been honored. Under-15 national team head coach Bhagwati Rana Magar, football coach Roshan Shah Thakuri, district football association president Ganesh Rai and coach Pashang Tamang were honored, said club president Pancha Kumar Chemjong.
