Himalayan Sherpa Club has been working hard to put up a strong team for the upcoming Martyr Memorial A Division League season.

The club has not been very successful in the national league, having finished 10th the previous season. They did, however, manage to end the flying Machhindra Club's unbeaten streak in the previous tournament.

The Himalayan Sherpas have begun preparations with the intention of finishing in the top three this time, despite their prior league performances.

As a result, the club has entrusted Yugal Kishor Rai with the task of training. Rai is the same coach that guided Dhangadhi FC to a second-place finish in the Nepal Super League.

This time, the Himalayan Sherpa Club boasts a wonderful mix of youth, experience, and foreign names. Coach Rai, on the other hand, believes that his system is more vital than star players.

"I never go out of my way to recruit superstars. I stick to the rules. Our players and management can achieve success if they stick to the method. A good system is more important to me than a fantastic player", Rai explained.

The Himalayan Sherpa Club has recruited Piston Mutamba, a 23-year-old Kenyan international, as well as Rio Nakamura of Japan and Olich Siwe (Ramji) of Cameroon. Kabal has also signed India's Moinuddin Khan in the SAFF quota.

The team recently won Belbari Gold Cup in Morang.

Rai believes that with the right structure in place, his team can achieve the unthinkable and win the championship.
