Hosts Nepal and India are eyeing the title in the U-16 Women's SAFF Football Championship, which will begin on Friday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.
The coaches and captains of the four teams participating in the pre-match press conference told their respective goals and plans on Thursday.
Nepal's coach Chakra Tamang said that the goal is to win the title at home, and the performance of the senior team in Saudi Arabia has boosted the morale of the youth team. Nepal has reached the finals in the WAFF Women's Championship in Saudi Arabia. Tonight, Nepal is facing Jordan in the WAFF Championship.
Budhathoki, who played the role of captain, said, "All the players are doing well. We also want to challenge all the teams in this competition and give Nepal a gold medal".
Nepal practiced for a month for the competition. Coach Tamang says that the players are very confident and happy during this exercise.
"Everyone in the team is very happy now. It is a good thing to get a 1-month long training time for the age group team', he said. He seems confident that the team will bring positive results due to the atmosphere.
Nepal is the defending champion of the U-15 SAFF Women's Championship.
