The 4th Sirijanga International Gold Cup football tournament will be held in Taplejung from 23rd to 29th Mangsir.

This competition and Sirijanga Mela-2081 will be held in Tellok, the administrative center of Sirijanga Rural Municipality.

Information about competitions and fairs

Tellok Reporting Club held a press conference in Fungling on Friday morning to inform about the competition and the fair. According to Arjun Bhattarai, president of the host club, eight teams, including one from Siliguri, India, will participate in the tournament.

Award

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 2,50,555, trophy, medal and certificate. Similarly, the runner-up will get Rs 1,25,555 cash, trophy, medal and certificate.

Birth Anniversary of Sirijangasing Thebe

The competition is organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the historian, Sirijangasing Thebe. Sirijangasing Thebe, who was the propagator of the Kirant Limbu script 'Sirijanga script' and the pioneer of the Yakthung culture, was born on the full moon day of Bikram Sambat 29th Mangsir 1704.

The purpose of the competition and fair is to promote and develop religious and touristic places in Sirijanga Rural Municipality. Major tourist attractions in the area include Kanchenjunga Himal, Birthplace of Sirijangasing Thebe, Limbu Cultural Museum and Khange Falls. In addition, the region also produces cash crops such as cardamom, kiwi fruit, Himalayan yak, chaunri's churpi and oranges.

Fairs and trade promotions

Also, the fair is organized with the aim of promoting the business of local community products, which is expected to increase local income.
