News 1st Inter Provincial National Games From Sunday

The first Inter-Provincial National Games will be held from Sunday, a joint project of Bagmati State Government, Ministry of Social Development and State Sports Development Council, Bagmati State.

Province Sports Development Council, Member-Secretary of Bagmati, Suryalal Bhandari informed that the preparations for the competition have reached the final stage.

The tournament will be inaugurated on Sunday at the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur, Chitwan. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is scheduled to inaugurate the competition.

In the tournament, 9 sports will be contested in athletics, volleyball, football, karate, taekwondo, boxing, swimming, badminton and cricket. All games except men's football will be played in Chitwan. Men's football will be played at Gauritar Stadium in Hetauda.

In the competition, 136 gold, 136 silver and 184 bronze medals will be contested. It is said that 1,547 players from all seven provinces will participate in the tournament. The top three winners will receive cash prizes of 5,000, 4,000 and 3,000 respectively. The best player of each game will be awarded with 10,000 cash. A silver running shield will be awarded to the team champion.

According to the organizers, about NRs 120 million will be spent to conduct the competition. The tournament will conclude on Baisakh 1 at Gauritar stadium.
