Kolbote FC and Phungnam Sporting Club have entered the quarter-finals after winning two matches in the Shubh Diwali football tournament held at Dokan Danda located in Phakphomthum rural municipality 7 on Tuesday.

In the first match, Colbote defeated Youth United Godak 2-0 and made it to the last eight. Sukraj Rai scored a goal in the 10th minute of the game for him.

Santosh Limbu, who became the man of the match, scored another goal in the 52nd minute of the game to ensure the victory of the team.

In the last pre-quarter final match of the tournament, Phungnam Sporting defeated DXN Pitambaru by a wide margin of 3-0 goals. Deuchan Rai of Phungnam scored in the 12th and 20th minutes of the game for a clear victory.

Similarly, Suraj Rai scored for the team in the 10th minute of the second half. Man of the match was Deuchan Rai. He received a cash prize.

16 teams are participating in the competition organized by Phakphokthum Ward No. 6 Sports Development Committee. The winner of the competition will get 1 lakh 25 thousand in cash and the runner-up will have to settle for 75 thousand in cash.
