Bijaypur Youth Club and Ganeshman Smriti Football Club have successfully advanced to the second stage of the 6th Naikap Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament.
In the tournament's first match at Naikap Stadium, Vijaypur displayed their prowess by defeating Nepalaya College with a convincing scoreline of 3-1. Samir Bohra was the star of the show, securing two goals for Vijaypur, while Anish Pariyar added one more to their tally. The only consolation goal for the defeated Nepalese side was netted by Sonu Ale Magar. Samir Bohra's exceptional performance earned him the "Man of the Match" title.
In the second match of the day, Ganeshman Smriti emerged victorious by defeating Manakamana Football Club with a score of 2-1. Bishal Shrestha contributed one goal to Ganeshman's success, and the opposing team conceded another goal as an own goal. Pasang Lama managed to score a lone goal for Manakamana in their loss. Rupesh Adhikari of Ganeshman Smriti was honored as the "Man of the Match."
The organizers have confirmed that two more exciting matches will be played on the 1st of Kartik as part of this competition.
The competition, held under the aegis of Chandragiri Sports Academy in Naya Naikap, Kathmandu, offers a cash prize of 500,000 along with the championship title for the ultimate winner, while the runner-up will receive 250,000. The final showdown is scheduled for the 25th of Kartik.
