News Portugal Edge Past Ghana To Gather Three Points

Kathmandu (GoalNepal) - Portugal have narrowly gathered three points against Ghana in the FIFA World Cup. In a group H fixture played at Stadium 974 in Qatar, Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 to go top of the group.

All five goals of the match came in the second forty-five minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal the lead in the match through a penalty in the 65th minute of the match. But Ghanain captain Andre Ayew equalized for Ghana eight minutes later, finishing off a Mohammed Kudus cross from the left.

But it didn't take Portugal much time to retake the lead. Joao Felix exquisitely finished off a Bruno Fernandes through ball to take Portugal upfront in the 78th minute. Substitute Rafael Leao extended the lead in the 80th minute to give breathing space for Portugal.

But Ghana pulled one back in the 89th minute through Osman Bukari. But Portugal held their nerves to escape with a win.

Earlier today, the two other teams in the group, Uruguay and South Korea played a goalless draw to come away with a point each.
