Nepal have suffered their second successive defeat in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers on Monday evening. Nepal lost 1-3 to Qatar in their second group match played at the Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain.

Playing against a tough opposition, Nepal were on the backfoot for the entire match.

Mohammad Mansoor Ali and Mohammad Surag scored for Qatar in the 30th and 45th minutes of the first half. Rashid Abdulaziz scored a goal in the 60th minute. Nepal were gifted a goal in the 75th minute after being 3-0 down. A backpass from a Qatar centre back wasn't controlled by the goalkeeper and the ball found it's way in.

Nepal sit at the bottom of group B with zero points. Alongside Nepal and Qatar, Bhutan, Bahrain and Bangladesh make up group B of the qualifiers. Nepal will play against Bahrain on September 14 and Bangladesh on September 18.

Bangladesh defeated Bhutan 2-1 earlier today to get their second straight win. Nepal had lost 2-0 to Bhutan in the first matchday.

The team finishing at the group's top will qualify for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup to be held in Uzbekistan next year alongside the five best runners-up.
