One of the most important ligaments that help to stabilize the knee joint is the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

In the current state of world football, ACL injuries are becoming more common. Nepalese footballers aren't far behind. Due to this injury, Nepali sensation Bimal Gharti Magar had been sidelined for a long time.

Sabitra Bhandari, a striker for the women's team, was in fine form before sustaining an ACL injury.

This is becoming more of a problem among Nepalese footballers. Nepali players face a major problem if they are sidelined due to an ACL injury or any other major injury due to a lack of resources and ANFA's own rehabilitation facilities.

Bimal and Sabitra have received treatment in Aspetar, Qatar, thanks to ANFA's collaboration with Qatar FA. Bimal is now fit and ready to play in Machhindra Club's upcoming A division league. Sabitra is still in Doha for complete rehab process.

Collaboration with the Qatar Football Association has aided some players in receiving better treatment for long-term injuries. However, ANFA does not provide this level of care to every player in the country.

When the league season is in full swing, A division clubs work with physiotherapists as well, but they lack rehabilitation and treatment facilities. Such facilities are not available in Nepal as a whole. Shouldn't ANFA, on the other hand, be doing a better job of resolving these issues? This is where the issue arises.

The best possible way is to prevent these from happening and this would be possible if players are looked after more profusely and closely.

Talking to GoalNepal, former Nepal national team physio Bibek Bikrant Adhikari also mentioned tha the lack of facilities Nepali clubs and ANFA have to treat the players in a therapeutic way.

Collaboration with Qatar FA is not going to last forever. And not every player is benefiting from it.

It's high time ANFA does something to solve these issues.
