Bhairab FC, Nawalparasi has entered quarterfinals of 3rd Sainamaina Mayor cup football tournament in Rupandehi.

Bhairab FC defeated Chapakot United 2-1 in a tightly contested match played at Sainamaina municipality on Monday.

Roshan Rana scored both goals (13', 75') for the winners while Dona Thapa scored one (49') for Chapakot.

Jay Gurung became the player of the match. Bhairab will play against Bishwo Shanti yuwa club in quarterfinals on 30th Magh.



On Tuesday, Murgiya FC will play against Nawa Kanchan FC.

Janapriya Sporting Club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of NRs 2,22,222. Runners up team will get NRs 1,11,111. Sainamaina municipality is the main supporter of the event.

Two semifinalist teams will get NRs 20,000 each. The MVP will get one mountain bicycle.

12 teams from Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi are taking part in the event.
