News 4th Mug Mug Jhapa Gold Cup: Hosts Jhapa XI Ousts Ruslan Three Star Club To Enter Final

Jhapa XI breezed into the final of 4th Mug Mug Jhapa Gold Cup defeating Ruslan Three Star Club 3-1 on penalties in the first semifinal match at Domalal Rajbanshi stadium on Friday.



The teams played goalless draw in regulation time and added extra time of 15 minutes, 7.5 minutes in each half, before heading towards spot-kick battle.



Pujan Uperkoti, Devendra Tamang and Dinesh Thapa Magar converted spot-kicks from Jhapa XI while Karna Limbu wasted it. Three Star Club goalie goalie Alan Neupane blocked Heman Gurung's penalty kick.



Ranjit Dhimal only converted spot-kick from Three Star Club. Rupesh KC and Mikchhen Tamang squandered the opportunity while Buddha Chemjong's spot-kick was denied by Jhapa XI goalie Dinesh Thapa Magar.



Jhapa XI glovesman Dinesh Thapa Magar bagged man of the match. He was awarded with Rs.15,000.

Nepal Army Club will play against Dauphins Team in the second semifinal match tomorrow.

Final match is scheduled on March 11.

Jhapa gold cup organizing committee is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 12,50,000.
