Tribhuwan Army FC have lifted the title of fifth Jhapa Gold Cup 2078. Army defeated Jhapa XI 2-1 today in the final held at Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium in Birtamod to clinch the title.
Tek Bahadur Budathoki gave Army the lead in the 18th minute of the match off a Suman Aryal assist. Just three minutes later, Army skipper George Prince Karki doubled the lead.
And in the 24th minute, Bimal Gharti Magar pulled one back for Jhapa. But no goals were scored further in the match and Army clinched their fourth Jhapa Gold Cup title in just the fifth edition.
Army received Rs. 12,55,000 in cash, while the runners-up Jhapa XI had to make-do with Rs. 6,05,000.
Ten teams, including the organizers Jhapa XI FC, as well as teams from Nepal and India competed at Birtamod's Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium.
