Sunil Kapali, the president of Machhindra Football Club, stated that the club's preparations for the upcoming league season are well underway, and that they intend to repeat their success from the previous season.

In the previous edition, the defending champions only lost one match, to Himalayan Sherpa Club near the end of the tournament.

"From what I've seen of the preparations, it appears that we're in good shape. Obviously, the results will be seen on the field, but so far, things are looking good for us," Kapali said in a club interview video.

In response to the pressure his team is under to defend the title, Kapali stated that defending the title is difficult.

Machhindra Club has a number of national players on their roster, and the president was heard to be optimistic about their chances of winning back-to-back championships.

"The national players have returned from their duty with their country. "We played a few friendlies to get them used to the squad," Kapali explained. "I'm hoping that these friendlies have helped to foster a sense of unity among the players."

Machhindra were due to play New Road Team (NRT) on the 18th of November before the postponement and the new fixture dates are yet to be announced.
