6th Bagmati gold cup football tournament got underway at Phaparbari, Bagmati rural municipality, Makwanpur.

Machhindra club defeated Right Lane education Bagmati club 5-2 on Tuesday at Janata ma vi grounds. With the win, White Lions entered quarterfinals and will meet JYC on Falgun 5.

Hisub Thapaliya (1'), Abhisek Gurung, Chizoba, Saurav Limbu & Bimal Gharti Magar scored apiece for the winners.

Bimal Gharti Magar became the player of the match and received NRs 10,000 cash.

Himalayan Sherpa club will meet Bagmati rural municipality sports development committee on Wednesday.

The championship has a winning purse of NRs 10 lakh while runners up team got NRs 5 lakh.
