The inaugural Maven Cup concluded on a high note with Leppington Gurkhas Recreational Club emerging as the champions after a hard-fought 1-0 win over St George Friends Football Club (SGFFC) in a thrilling final.

The one-day event, held in Sydney, was a resounding success, bringing together six competitive teams, including the hosts, SGFFC.

The final match was a tense, tactical battle, with Leppington Gurkhas edging out SGFFC with a narrow 1-0 victory. Their triumph earned them a $3000 prize, while SGFFC, despite a valiant effort, settled for $1500 as the runner-up. The match showcased excellent football from both teams, with Leppington Gurkhas’ solid defense and clinical finishing proving the difference.

A Seamless Event Execution

Organized and executed by St George Friends Football Club (SGFFC)—one of the oldest and most respected football clubs in Sydney—the 1st Maven Cup was a well-organized and smooth event. The day was packed with high-energy football, and the passion from the players and fans was evident throughout.

SGFFC President, Anjan Lama, expressed his gratitude for the success of the event, saying, "A big thank you to all our associates, supporters, and the teams for making this tournament such a memorable occasion.
