The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced rewards for the Nepali U-20 football team following their impressive run to the finals of the SAFF U-20 Championship held at home last week.
In a recent working committee meeting, ANFA decided to award each player who competed in the final with a sum of 50,000 rupees. Additionally, 20 percent of the revenue generated from the tournament's ticket sales will be distributed among the players, providing an extra 15,040 rupees each. This means each player will receive a total of 65,040 rupees.
Head coach Urjan Shrestha will be awarded 50,000 rupees for his leadership, while assistant coaches Sasendra Dhimal and Raju Singh Maharjan will each receive 25,000 rupees. Team manager Robin Khadka and team physiotherapist Anish Budhathoki will also be awarded 25,000 rupees each.
In the final of the SAFF U-20 Championship, held at the ANFA Complex on August 12, Nepal was defeated 4-1 by Bangladesh, resulting in a runner-up finish. ANFA's decision highlights their appreciation for the team's efforts and achievements throughout the tournament.
