In a fantastic development for Nepali football, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, the esteemed captain and first-choice goalkeeper of the Nepali national women's team, has secured a professional contract with Nis Atromitos, a prominent side in Greece's Women's 'A' League for the 2024-25 season.
This achievement marks a significant milestone as Anjila becomes the second Nepali player to take her talents to a European club, following in the footsteps of star forward Sabitra Bhandari, who currently plays for Guingamp in France's top league.
Atromitos, the team Anjila will be joining, concluded the previous season in ninth place in the Greek Women's 'A' League, with a record of 9 wins, 6 draws, and 11 losses from 26 matches. Anjila's move to the club is expected to bolster their squad significantly as they aim to improve their standing in the upcoming season.
This marks the third international venture in Anjila's football career. Prior to this, she has showcased her skills in the Women's League of Pakistan and the renowned I-League in India. In Nepal, she has been a key player for the Armed Police Force (APF) Club.
