
North Korea won the AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup title on Sunday.
In the finals, North Korea became the champion for the fourth time after defeating the former champion Japan 1-0. The only goal scored by Jun-Il Chung in the 46th minute for North Korea became the decisive goal to make the team the winner.
With this victory, North Korea has also succeeded in avenging the 2-1 loss they suffered against Japan in the finals of the last edition. Not only that, North Korea has won the tournament title four times and tied with Japan in the list of the most titles won.
Similarly, South Korea beat China 2-1 in the play-off match for the third place. Along with this result, the three teams from Asia that will participate in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup to be held in the Dominican Republic this year have also been decided.
In which the winner North Korea, the runner-up Japan and the third place South Asian will represent Asia in the world football tournament.
