Birgunj United has entered semifinals of Bandevi Mai cup football tournament.

Birgunj United defeated Srijana community development centre 1-0 in the opening match played at Sitapur, Dhanusha on Wednesday.

Laxman Chaudhary scored the match winning goal in 63rd minute. Ayush Rana Magar from the losing side became the man of the match.

Bagmati Yuwa Club, Sarlahi will play against Swosthani yuwa club, Dhanuta on Thursday.

The match will be played at Bandevi Mai proposed stadium at 3 PM Nepali time.

Earlier, former minister Raghubir Mahaseth inaugurated the championship.

Bateshowr rural municipality ward number two and Bandevi Mai yuwa club are the joint organizers of the event.



According to the tournament co-ordinator Ajay Singh, eight teams are taking part in the event. 





Co-ordinator Singh said the matches won’t be played on Kartik 29, 30, Mangsir 1 & 5 due to festivals.

The champions will get Nrs 80,000 and runners up team will get Nrs 40,000.
