The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has announced that the second phase of the Chinese Super League (CSL) will continue in Dalian and Suzhou from October 16, with the final rankings to be determined on November 12.

The second phase, reports Xinhua, adopts a two-legged knockout system and will be divided into the championship group (Final A) and the relegation group (Final B).

The top four teams from each of the two groups from the first phase will move into Final A to determine the eventual league champions and the top eight rankings. The bottom four from each group will move to Final B to fight against relegation.

The second phase will involve two-legged ties and if teams draw on aggregate, extra time will be played with penalties to decide the winners if the match is still tied.

The top three teams will qualify for the 2021 AFC Champions League with the fourth spot in the continental showcase going to the CFA Cup winners.

Defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande currently top Group A of the first phase with Shanghai SIPG top of Group B.

The first phase - with teams still to play six matches - is scheduled to end on September 28.

Please note that Nepalese football is in complete halt since March due to the pandemic.
