Women football player from Belaka municipality, Udayapur has lost her eye in a freak accident.
Samikchya Magar, a player from Belaka Municipality, sustained an eye injury on Baisakh 12 while doing house chores.
According to coach Bhagwati Rana Magar, Magar couldn't go to hospital due to lock down. She and her parents opted for home remedies but that didn't work out.
"When Samikchya started to feel severe pain, she was taken to BP hospital by her parents 24 hours late where it was diagnosed that a foreign particle had already caused severe problem to her right eye. She also had to do COVID 19 test for which she had to wait for three days", said coach Bhagwati Rana Magar.
She added, "Doctors at BPKIHS suggested to take her to Biratnagar eye hospital where it was finalized that the operation was needed to remove her right eye".
"We are very shocked. The financial condition of her parents is not sound. They need our support.
"Doctors have started to give high antibiotic dose to Magar before the surgery. They said they would wait for few days for the surgery", added coach Magar.
Parents of player have now appealed football community to support her as their financial background isn't sound.
