Nepal Army has entered semifinals of Madan Bhandari memorial Itahari gold cup football tournament in Itahari, Sunsari.

Nepal Army defeated Ruslan Three Star Club 3-1 on penalties to enter last four at Itahari stadium on Monday.

Both teams played out 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Buddha Chemjong, Rupesh KC and Ranjeet Dhimal squandered their kicks while Bikram Lama could onely score for Stars.

Santosh Tamang, Bharat Khawas and Bivek Basnet converted their kicks for TAC while Deep Lama and Padam Tamang missed their penalty kicks.

Goalie Bikesh Kuthu became the man of the match and received Nrs 10,000.

Stars had defeated Nepal Army on pens to win the title of Simara gold cup last week.


CFC Bhutan will play against Nepal Police in last quarterfinal match on Tuesday.

Rastriya Jagriti yuwa club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 16 lakh.
