News Kathmandu: Nepal Army Beats JYC To Enter Semifinals In Chandragiri Gold Cup

Nepal Army defeated Jawalakhel youth club 5-3 on penalties to enter semifinals in Chandragiri gold cup at Naikap, Kathmandu, on Wednesday.

Both teams played 0-0 draw in regulation time.

Army second choice goalie Gandip Khadka saved one spot kick from JYC.

Hiranya Magar, Rajiv Gurung, Arik Bista, Dinesh Karki and Rupesh Chhetri converted their kicks for Armymen.

Ram Thapa Magar, Sidibe and Ashim Thapa could convert their kicks but Suraj Thukari's attempt is saved by Army goalie.

Army fielded four Nepal U19 players while JYC fielded three foreign recruits.

Goalie Gandip Khadka became the man of the match. He received Rs 3,000 cash.

Nepal Police will meet Sankata club on Thursday.

Bright youth club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 5 lakhs.
