Jitpur Simara sub-metro 1st Mayor cup got underway in Simara on Thursday.

Ward number 1 and 11 won their respective matches in the opening day.

Ward number 1 defeated ward number 13 3-0. Niraj Magar, Utsav Kansakar and Prashant Chaudhary scored apiece for the winners. Niraj Magar became the man of the match.

In the second match, ward number 11 defeated ward number 6 in sudden death.

Earlier, mayor Dr. Krishna Paudel inaugurated the championship. Dy mayor Saraswoti Chaudhary and other distinguished guests were present in the opening ceremony.

24 wards are taking part in the event.
