Ilam municipality has signed an MoU with Mai Valley FC for Mai Valley gold cup first prize sponsorship.

Mayor Mahesh Basnet and Mai Valley FC president Dhiren Chemjong signed in an MoU recently in Ilam.

First prize of the championship is Rs 5 lakh.

The event is kicking off on Baisakh 6 at Ilam Tundikhel.

12 top teams are participating in the championship, which is the first major tournament of the season.

Hosts Mai Valley FC will play against Kaski XI in the opening match.
