
The departmental team Nepal Police Club, Kathmandu has entered the final of the ongoing 24th Aha! Rara Pokhara Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament with a narrow victory.
Police came close to the title by defeating Church Boys United Club 1-0 in the first semi-final on Wednesday. The only goal scored by Sanjeev Lama in the 58th minute of the match at the Pokhara Stadium was the decisive goal to send Police to the final.
The decisive goal scorer Sanjeev Lama was declared the man of the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
The second semi-final match of the tournament will be held on Thursday, Falgun 1 between Black Bulls FC, Uzbekistan and Three Star Club, Lalitpur, the organizers informed.
The winner of the tournament organized by Sahara Club, Pokhara will receive Rs 1.2 million and the title, while the runner-up will receive Rs 0.6 million. The final match will be held on Falgun 3.
