
The third U-18 ward-level football competition underway here has seen the reigning champions Arjundhara 6 and the first edition's winner, Ward 8, emerge victorious on Monday.
In the first match, reigning champions Arjundhara 6 defeated Ward 10 by a 2-0 margin to enter the second round. Sahil Tamang and Adarsh Meche scored goals for them.
Similarly, Arjundhara 8 defeated Ward 2 by a 3-0 margin. Sameer Hemaram, Pranish Rana Magar and Prabhava Nepal scored goals for Ward 8.
The Player of the Match for the first match was Arjundhara 6's Kasahil Tamang and the second match was Arjundhara 8's Nischal Bhandari. They each received Rs 1,000 each along with a Joya brand T-shirt.
There will be two matches tomorrow as well. Teams from 11 wards within the municipality are participating in the competition organized by Shanishchare Football Club. The winner and runner-up teams of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively along with trophies.
