News Rupandehi: Jharna Enters QFs Of 22nd Lisnu Cup

Jharna Sports Club, Kunjalapur has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Late Kamalraj Pathak Memorial 22nd Lisnu Cup with a commanding performance.

In Tuesday’s final pre-quarterfinal, Jharna triumphed 5-1 over city rivals and hosts Lisnu Yuva Club, Kotihwa. Despite the fierce competition between two teams packed with prominent national-level players, Jharna's dominance was clear. Vivek Gurung netted twice, while captain Kuldeep Karki, Aditya Shakya, and John Glory each added a goal. Ohineba Henry scored the only goal for the defeated side.

The first quarter-final, scheduled for Wednesday will feature Sampurna Yuva Club, Supauli against Kapilvastu-11, as announced by match coordinator Krishna Gurung.

The winner of the tournament, organized by Lisnu Yuva Club in Tilottama-15, Kotihawa, will receive a cash prize of 325,000, with the runner-up taking home 165,000. The tournament final is set for October 3rd, featuring 12 participating teams.
