14th Itahari Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament will be held from the 10th of Chaitra in Itahari.

Information about the Gold Cup was given at a press conference on Tuesday. It was informed that eight teams will participate in the Gold Cup organized by Rastriya jagriti club at Itahari Stadium.

According to the president of the club, Santa Bahadur Dumjan, eight teams, including four from A Division and one from India, will participate in the Gold Cup.

Dumjan informed that Tribhuvan Army Club, Church Boys, APF, NRT Club, Birtamod United Jhapa, Kanchenjunga Football Club India, former winners Everest Youth Club Morang and host Raja Club Itahari will participate.

The winner of the competition will receive a trophy with ten lakhs in cash, while the runner-up will settle for five lakhs. The player who is the man of the match every day in the tournament will receive 10,000.

Likewise, the best goal keeper, best defense, best mid field, best forward, best coach, best rising player will be awarded 20,000 in cash, said the game coordinator Saroj Thapa. Similarly, he said, 25,000 will be given to the best high scorer. Similarly, match coordinator Thapa said that the player who gets Man of the Series will get 1 lakh.

According to Keshav Karki, finance committee coordinator of the tournament and secretary of Koshi Province Football Association, this year the tournament will be held under lights.

"This year, we will hold a night-time competition, preparations are being made accordingly," he said, "There will be four lights installed in the stadium.

"This year, we mainly hope for the audience," he said, "It is a challenge to hold a night football tournament." However, we have formed a security committee and coordinated with the police.

Ticket rates are set at 100 for the quarterfinals, 200 for the semi-finals and 300 for the finals. Karki said that it is expected that 2000 spectators can enjoy the competition by buying tickets every day.

It is estimated that a total of 76 lakhs will be spent on the competition. According to the organizer, Provincial Sports Development Board, Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City, National Sports Council will assist in the competition. The main sponsor of the competition is Control Lubricant.

Similarly, the organizers have released last year's income and expenditure as well. Last year, the organizers reported a total income of 59 lakh 60 thousand 450 rupees. Similarly, it was informed that 55 lakh 94 thousand rupees were spent.
