APF FC of the Armed Police Force has entered the semi-finals of the 6th Jhapa Gold Cup ongoing in Jhapa.

APF reached the last four by defeating Sarlahi's Bagmati Youth Club in a tiebreaker. APF, which has been consistently successful in the tiebreaker, defeated Bagmati by 4-3 in the first quarterfinal match held today.

Decision was taken from the tiebreaker after the game ended in a goalless draw in the scheduled 90 minutes. Towards the end of the game, Dipesh Dhimal of APF was forced to leave the field after receiving a red card after receiving a double yellow card. Many APF players got yellow cards in today's match.

APF's Suman Shrestha, Fode Fofona, Kuldeep Karki and Pradeep Lama scored goals in the tiebreaker, while Bagmati's Abhi Lama, Bimal Ghising and Diwas Limbu scored only goals. Nirmal Ghising and Anil Rana Magar's shots were stopped by APF goalkeeper Angel Shrestha. APF's angel managed to get 11,000 in cash by becoming man of the match. Angel was also the player of the match in the first round match.

In the opening match as well, APF defeated Sankata Club in a tiebreaker. After the match, the coach of the winning team, Suman Shrestha, said that they could not perform the game according to the strategy. He admitted that it was a shame to have to tape the jersey in a prestigious Gold Cup like Jhapa.

The coach of Bagmati Youth Club, Sunil Shrestha, said that his team was defeated because boys could not use the opportunities. Bagmati kept APF under pressure throughout the match. The second quarterfinal match on Tuesday will be between NRT Football Club Kathmandu and Church Boys United Kathmandu. The winner of this gold cup with 10 teams participating will get an attractive trophy with cash of 13 lakhs.
