Nepal APF School Kirtipur, Manakamana Secondary School Jorpati, Nepalaya English Public School Jorpati and Gems School Dhapakhel won the first pre-quarterfinal match of the first inter-school Armed Police Inspector General Running Trophy football competition held at Nepal APF School in Kirtipur.

Nepal APF School Kirtipur (A) defeated DAV School, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur by 5-0 goals in the pre-quarter finals of the first inter-school Armed Police Inspector General Running Trophy football tournament organized by Nepal APF School from January 22. With the defeat, DAV is out of the competition. For APF, Bivek Tharu and Evin Basyal scored 2-2 while Tenzing Sherpa scored 1 goal. In the match, Tharu was elected man of the match. Likewise, Manakamana Secondary School Jorpati defeated Modern Indian School, Chobhar by 6-2 goals. With the win, Manakamana entered the quarter-finals while Modern Indian was eliminated from the competition.

For Mankamana Secondary School, Prajwal Tamang scored 4 goals including a hat-trick, while Pemba Tamang and Anish Dangol scored 1-1 each. Prajwal Tamang, who scored 4 goals in the match, was declared Man of the Match. In the third match of the day, Nepali English Public School, Jorpati defeated Green Village Education Foundation Kirtipur by 2-1 and secured a place in the last 8 of the competition.

Ranvir Tamang and Suraj Syangtan scored equal 1-1 goals for Nepali English Public School. Suraj Syangtan was declared the best player in the game. Similarly, in the fourth and last game of the day, Gems School, Dhapakhel defeated Rai School, Naxal by 6-2. Gems School, Dhapakhel for Anmol V.K. He was elected man of the match when he completed the hat trick. Ashish Pandey scored 2 goals and special Kunwar scored 1 goal for Gems. With the win, Gems also entered the last 8 of the competition.

As part of the competition, Nepal APF School Kirtipur (B) will Bright Horizon Children's Home, Matatirtha & Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur and Nepalaya Higher Secondary School Kalanki is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.

In other pre-quaterfinals, Nepal Police School will meet Little Angels School, Hattiban Lalitpur and Sainik Residential Secondary School, Sallaghari will face Kavya School Buddhanagar Kathmandu against Sanga. The winning team will qualify for the final 8 of the tournament.

The competition, which has a prize of 50,000, will continue until Falgun 8.
