
With a comfortable victory, Everest Youth Club, Morang has entered the semi-finals of the 1st Kanchenjunga Seselung Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament held here.
Towards the fourth and last quarter-final, Everest defeated B.T. Football Club, Tehrathum entered the last four by defeating Zeroka by 4 goals. Bhuvan Basnet scored two goals in Everest's victory, while Bishal Bhandari and Birendra Limbu scored one goal each.
Bhuvan Basnet, who scored two goals for Everest in the match, was elected man of the match. He received a cash prize of 5000 and a medal. The organizers informed that the first semi-final of the competition will be held between Lakh Chakraghatti Football Club, Sunsari and Atharai Rural Municipality, Tehrathum on Sunday, 8th of January.
Sports coordinator Chandra Thebe said that the winner of the competition organized by Kanchenjunga Fungling Club, Fungling-4, Taplejung on the occasion of Chasok Tangnam festival will get 3 lakh 280 rupees in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will get 1 lakh 51 thousand 80 rupees.
The final match of the tournament, in which a total of 8 teams are participating, will be held on the 11th of Poush.
