Phalgunanda Sports Development Committee Phakphokthum 7 and Five Star Aangsarang of Panchthar have entered the semi-finals of the Shubh Diwali football tournament at Dokan Danda located in Angsarang Phakphokthum Rural Municipality 7.

In the first match at Janakalyan Mavi Stadium on Wednesday, Phalgunanda secured a place in the last four by defeating Phungwa Youth Club Fuetappa by 3-1.

Captain Tara Fago scored for Falgunand in the 7th minute of the game. Subas Tamang scored a goal in the 16th minute and Magnet Limbu scored another goal in the 18th minute. He became man of the match.

For Fuetappa, Ikal Limbu only scored a goal in the 32nd minute of the game. Even though Falgunanda won the match, the audience's hearts were won by Phuetappa's players.

From the second match of the second round, Angsarang became the second team to make it to the semi-finals. Defeated Deurali United Metalung by 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals.

Lokendra Thapa scored 2 goals for Angsarang. Lokendra scored in the 6th and 7th minutes of the game. He became man of the match. For Deurali, though Vivek Sunam scored in the 47th minute, the team could not return to the game.

16 teams are participating in the competition organized by Phakphokthum Ward No. 6 Sports Development Committee. The winner of the competition will get 1 lakh 25 thousand in cash and the runner-up will have to settle for 75 thousand in cash.
