Pokhara (GoalNepal) - Sankata Club have qualified into the final of the 22nd edition of the Aaha! Rara Pokhara Gold Cup. Sankata defeated defending champions APF Football Club 4-1 in thee first semifinal at the Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Foreign duo Stephane Binong and Messouke Oloumou scored a brace each in the victory for Sankata.
Sankata were dominant from the very start of the match. APF gifted them a goal with miscommunication at the back as Stephane Binong capitalized on the mistake to give Sankata the lead. Messouke Oloumou doubled the lead for Sankata in the 42nd minute. The first half ended 2-0 in favor of Sankata with a lot to do for APF.
But Sankata replicated much of the first-half performance. Stephane Binong added the third for his team in the 61st minute.
Substitute Hari Karki pulled one goal back for APF in the 74th minute but it couldn't trigger a comeback. Mesosuke added another goal in the 86th minute to round off a dominating win for Sankata.
Stephane Binong was named the player of the match and received Rs. 8,000.
Sankata will now face the winners between BYSC, USA and Church Boys United in the final.
The winners of this tournament edition will receive 12 lakh rupees while the runners-up will receive six lakh rupees.
