News Maya Universe Win Father Moran Memorial Inter-School Title

Defending champions Maya Universe, Tanahuh have won the 25th Father Moran Memorial Invitational Inter-School Football Tournament, which is organized annually in memory of Father Marshall D Moran SJ, the founder and principal of St. Xavier's School, Godavari, to promote grassroots football, has won the title.

In the final, Maya Universe defeated the hosts St. Xavier's School, 4-0 and defended the title. Manjil Shrestha and Ibas BK scored two goals each for Maya Universe. Manjil Shrestha of Maya Universe was chosen as the man of the match for the final match.

Similarly, in the match for third place, Modern Indian School, Chobhar, Kathmandu secured third place by defeating Nepal Don Bosco School 4-3 in the tiebreaker. Before that, both teams played a 1-1 draw at the scheduled time. Towards the scheduled time, Arush Bilas Pant scored a goal for Modern Indian School, while Rupsan Nepal scored a goal for Nepal Don Bosco. Mingma Pakhreen of Modern Indian School was elected man of the match.

Aditya BK of Maya Universe became the best goalkeeper in the individual category. Pratik Baniya of Modern Indian School was chosen as the best defender. Similarly, John Raut of Modern Indian School became the Most Promising Player. Ibas BK of Maya Universe, who scored 13 goals throughout the tournament, won the top scorer award.

Similarly, Joris Van Dorp of Maya Universe was declared the best trainer. Sandesh Tudu of the host St. Xavier's School was declared the tournament's best player.

The winning players were awarded by the chief guest of the event, Mayor Gajendra Maharjan of Godavari Municipality, the organizer St. Xavier's School Superior Father George PM SJ, school principal Father Bijay Pratap Topo and other guests.
