Morang - Pathari Football Club, Morang have won the title of the ninth Saptakoshi Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament. In the final held at the Shri Basanta Ritu Ma.Vi. on Saturday, Pathari defeated Satakshidham Football Club, Jhapa 3-1 to become the champions.

Bijay Bhujel scored two goals for Pathari and Umesh Karki scored one more goal. Sanjok Rai scored the only for the defeated Satakshidham. Pathari's Ekraj Budhathoki was red cardrd in the second half. However, being limited to ten players did not hinder Pathari from winning the title.

Pathari, who became the winner, received two lakh rupees along with the title, while the runners-up Satakshidham had to settle for one lakh rupees. Pathari's Bijay Bhujel was chosen as the man of the match in the final. He won Rs. 5,000 in cash and a trophy. Bhujel, who also became the top scorer, won Rs. 6,000 cash and a trophy.

Pathari's Sujit Chaudhary was selected as the best goalkeeper. The best defender was Min Dhimal from Pathari and the best midfielder was Nikesh Shrestha from Satakshidham. Lal Bahadur Lawati of Pathari became the best coach. All the winners received 5,000 each and a trophy.

Aadesh Darnal of Saptakoshi was declared the rising player of the tournament. He also won Rs. 6,000 cash and a trophy. Bibek Paudel from Pathari was declared the best player in the tournament. For that, he received seven thousand rupees cash and a trophy. The winning players were awarded by Ramesh Karki, Mayor of Barahkshetra Municipality, Sunsari and others.

The organizers informed that a total of eight teams participated in the competition organized by Shree Saptakoshi Youth Club, BarahKshetra-7, Sunsari from Ashoj 29th.
