The Nepal U-17 National Team, on their return to Nepal after competing in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, have been stranded at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia.

The team landed in Malaysia on Monday afternoon and will depart for Nepal only on Tuesday afternoon. The team will arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening.

As the team has to stay in transit for 24 hours, ANFA has not made any other arrangements so far. Players should ideally be kept in hotels during long transits.

ANFA should have learned the lesson when the team spent 12 hours sitting in the airport's normal seats to cut the transit time on their way to Vietnam.

Late arrival in Vietnam and long transit hours could have had an effect on Nepal's performance at the qualifiers as well. Nepal finished the qualifiers with three defeats in as many matches in Group F. Nepal were defeated 3-0 by Thailand, 5-0 by hosts Vietnam and 4-2 by Chinese Taipei.

Vietnam qualified to the AFC U-17 Asian Cup from Group F. Neighbors India also secured their place in the tournament finishing as the fourth best runners-up after their defeat to Saudi Arabia yesterday night.
