News Nepal U-17 Suffer Second Successive Defeat In The Asian Cup Qualifiers

Kathmandu (GoalNepal) - Nepal have suffered a second successive defeat in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Nepal suffered a 5-0 loss to hosts Vietnam in the second Group F match of the qualifiers.

In the match played at the Viet Tri Stadium in Vietnam, Cong Phuong, Hoang Son, Dinh Thuong, Long Vu and Van Danh all scored apiece to give the home side their second successive win.

After this loss, Nepal are on zero points in the group. Chinese Taipei have not opened their account as well. Vietnam and Thailand are tied on six points. The top two sides will face each other on the final matchday to decide the top two spots.

Nepal will round off the qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on October 9.

The ten group winners in the qualifiers and the six best runners-up will qualify for the Asian Cup finals. The hosts for the finals are yet to be decided after Bahrain withdrew the rights to host the competition.
