Nepal have suffered their third successive defeat in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers on Monday evening. Nepal lost 6-0 to Bahrain in their third group match played at the Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain.
Playing against tough opposition, Nepal were on the back foot for the entire match. Nepal were down to ten men in the 28th minute after Amar Shrestha was sent off for a foul outside the box.
Abdullah Ali Alsubai scored two goals in Bahrain's victory. Abdullah Sultan Alkhalasi, Shayad Ali Nasir, Abdul Rahman Gadban and Mubarak Mohammad Habib scored one goal each.
Nepal sit at the bottom of group B with zero points. Alongside Nepal and Qatar, Bhutan, Bahrain and Bangladesh make up group B of the qualifiers. Nepal will play against Bangladesh on September 18 in their final group match.
Qatar are at the top of the table with six points. Bahrain and Bangladesh are second and third with four points each, respectively and Bhutan are fourth with three points.
The team finishing at the group's top will qualify for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup to be held in Uzbekistan next year alongside the five best runners-up.
