News ANFA Bids U-17 National Team Farewell For SAFF U-17 Championship

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has bid the Nepal national U-17 team farewell before the team heads to Sri Lanka for the SAFF U-17 Championship. The team was bid farewell at the ANFA Complex on Thursday afternoon.

The team will fly to Sri Lanka on Friday, according to ANFA. Sri Lanka is hosting the championship in Colombo from September 5-14.

Bhutan will open the campaign by taking on India on September 5. Bangladesh will meet Sri Lanka later in the evening on the same day. Nepal U-17 have has been grouped with India and Bhutan in the championship.

Six SAARC nations are taking part in the event except for Pakistan. Two teams from the group will go to the semifinals.

Coach Urjan Shrestha had already finalized the 23-man squad that will travel to Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Defenders: Aswin Ghorasainee, Semanta Thapa, Unesh Budathoki, Madan Paudel, Dipak Thapa Magar, Nishant Tamang, Yunish Magar, Bikram Tamang, Pritam Karki, Dhiraj Bishwakarma

Midfielders: Prashant Laxsam, Mirak Lingden, Saroj Darlami, Harish Raj Bhatta, Lachhu Thapa

Forwards: Niraj Karki, Dhan Singh BK, Binod KC, Sijal Rai, Subash Bam
