The government of Japan has provided a grant of USD 71,581 to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for construction and improving facilities at ANFA complex, Satdobato, Lalitpur.
A grant contract for the project was signed and exchanged on Wednesday by H.E Mr. Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, and Mr. Dhirendra Pradhan, general secretary at ANFA.
The assistance is provided under grant assistance for cultural grassroots project (GCGP) and Japan's "Sports for Tomorrow" initiatives.
ANFA will use the grant to renovate the players' locker room and furnish technical training room and office space, Japanese embassy said.
Ambassador Masahi said that the embassy of Japan expects the project to contribute towrds improving the sporting sector in Nepal while also enhancing cordial relations between the two countries.
ANFA president Narendra Shrestha thanked Japanese embassy for the support.
"We will construct wash rooms for visitors and we will also furnish changing rooms with the provided support", said Shrestha.
Japan is hosting summer Olympic and paraolympic games in Tokyo in 2020 A.D.
