Sangam Club B has won the title of the first National Nine-a-side Veterans Football Tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gandaki Province. In the final played at the Pokhara Stadium, Sangam defeated Sano Gaucharan of Kathmandu 3-0 to clinch the title.
Lal Bahadur Khatri, Bijaya Gurung and Sanjay Gurung scored for Sangam. Along with the title, Sangam Club received Rs , in cash while runners-up Sano Gaucharan received Rs 1,50,000 in cash.
Bijay Gurung of Sangam Club was declared the best player in the competition and received Rs 20,000 in cash. Similarly, Khim Bahadur Gurung of Sangam Club was declared the best goalkeeper, Bishnulal Shrestha of Sangam was declared the best defender, Mahendra Gurung of Sangam was declared the best midfielder and Shukra Tamang of Sano Gaucharan was declared the best forward. They each received a certificate along with Rs 15,000 in cash.
Manoj Gurung of Bagar Bhai Khalak and Narendra Jung Gurung of Sangam Club, who scored four goals each and finished as the top scorers during the tournament, each received Rs 7,500 in cash.
