Nepal have been beaten 2-0 at the hands of Thailand in the friendly played today at the Chon Buri stadium in Thailand.

In a very brave performance by the Nepali team, substitute Philip Roller scored in the 78th minute of the match to give the Thai team the lead. And the Thai team doubled the lead in the 89th minute through Chaowat Weerachart.

Against a very highly ranked opponent in Nepal's comparison, Nepal did well to contain the Thai team until the 78th minute.

Prashanth Awasthi, the Satdobato Youth Club player also made his debut in today's encounter.

Nepal will face Chon Buri FC in the second friendly of the Thailand tour on March 27.

The friendlies in Thailand are part of the FIFA International Break and will serve as a warm-up for the third round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, which will take place in June.

Nepal is in Group A, along with Jordan, Kuwait, and Indonesia, and Thailand is in Group C, along with Uzbekistan, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The teams will be hoping to go into the qualifiers with positive momentum.
