Nepal national team coach Abdullah Almutairi was positive about Nepal's outcome from the friendly against Thailand which is scheduled for later today. Nepal is scheduled to face the likes of Jordan and Kuwait in the final round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and Almutairi says that this will help Nepal test their strengths against a side at a similar level to Thailand.

"Thailand are similar to Jordan and Kuwait in terms of quality and this match will help us understand the level of football we'll be playing against in the qualifiers. As this is our last chance to test ourselves before the qualifiers, this fixture is very important for us", said Almutairi.

A similar thing was echoed by the Thailand coach Mano Polking. He also asserted that Nepal are on a similar level to the Maldives and Sri Lanka which are in Thailand's group for the qualifiers.

"Nepal is our chosen opponent because they have played against the Maldives and Sri Lanka before and have come out victorious. Nepal will help us understand the level they are in", said Polking. He also added that Thailand will need to beat those two teams to qualify for the Asian Cup.

Nepal will face Thailand today in the first friendly match of the Thailand tour. The teams will take the field at Chonburi Stadium in Thailand's Chon Buri province at 5:45 p.m. NST.
