News Morang: Pathari Lifts The Title Of Open Knockout Tournament

Pathari Football Club has won the title of the open knockout football tournament organized by The Boys Club. Pathari won the match against Lalbhitti Football Club by 5-3 on penalties. Pathari Football Club won the tiebreaker match after both the regulation time ended 0-0 during the match.

The concluding session of the program was presided by Letang Municipality Chief Shankar Rai. Addressing the program, he recalled that Letang has made a significant contribution in the field of football and said that it was necessary for all levels to cooperate for its development.

He said that the municipality has put forward a plan to build a stadium to prolong sports life. He said that the city has been giving equal importance to all the games and the players have been honored by the municipality as the games are viewed with importance.

The winning team received a shield, medals and certificates with Rs 50,000 in cash while the runners-up received medals and certificates with Rs 30,000 in cash.

The man of the tournament was Sanjay Limbu of Pathari. Twelve teams participated in the competition. Mayor Shankar Rai, Deputy Chief of the city Krishna Kumari Niraula, Chief of Education Krishna Raj Rai and Ward Chairman of Ward 4 Santosh Karki distributed prizes to the winners in today's game.
