Chitwan district wide Right & Associate U14 football championship got underway in Bharatpur on Thursday.

Balmiki Sikhya Sadan defeated Blue Bird academy 5-1 in the opening match.

Sarthal Niraula scored a brace while Dev Dura, Saj Bhusal and Himanshu Thapa scored apiece for the winners. Bishal Tamang scored a consolation goal for Blue Bird.

Don Academy defeated Narayani Public school in sudden death to progress to second round. Both teams had played 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Two matches will be played today.

Chitwan district football association is organizing the championship. Yatra group and Bharatpur FC are the co-organizers.

14 schools are taking part in the event.
