Fourteen clubs are hard at work preparing for the upcoming Martyr Memorial A Division League season, which begins on November 19. After ANFA postponed the opening due to a broadcasting issue, a date has been set.

All of the teams are attempting to strengthen their rosters through new hires and pre-season friendly matches against one another. However, the lack of stadiums has long been a problem in Nepal, and now the club's training facilities appear to be in poor condition.

The clubs are now dealing with issues such as an uneven field, a lack of proper grassy pitches, and the possibility of injuries on those pitches.

The league will most likely be held in four stadiums: one in Kathmandu, two in Lalitpur, and the Pokhara stadium in Pokhara. And one of the four venues, the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, has an artificial pitch that will completely change the game's complexion.

Although clubs have previously played there, the transition from natural grassy pitches to artificial pitches will be a unique challenge.

Artificial turf is one issue, but clubs are also having difficulty practicing on natural grass. Despite the fact that our national stadiums don't have the best of pitches in the world, the lack of proper training pitches for teams is bound to stifle player's; development.

For matches of this caliber, ANFA makes every effort to create the best grassy pitch possible. Even so, their standards are incredibly low. As a result, one can imagine the practice pitches that the teams are working on right now.

The number of venues will not be an issue as it has been in the past, thanks to the inclusion of four stadiums. But it's clear that if the players can't train on proper pitches, they won't be able to perform at their best.

With such a long season ahead of them, training on bad pitches will almost certainly result in injuries. It's past time for the clubs to take action to address this problem. Clubs must ensure that their players are safe from harm. Bad pitches will not only hinder the player's performance, but it will also be dangerous to practice on them every day.

On this issue, ANFA needs to issue a directive. And maybe then only, the clubs will try to build a facility that will help the players train better.
